Why I Focus on Integration

I've watched too many accomplished, self-aware women spin in the gap between knowing and doing.

And they're exhausted from understanding themselves but not being able to change.

This gap—between intellectual insight and embodied transformation—is where I focus. Because you don't need more information. You need integration. You need to bring your years of inner work out of your head and into your body, your nervous system, your daily life.

That's what this work exists to do.

About

Lise Prewitt

I'm Lise. For over 25 years, I've been helping women reconnect to themselves through pilates-based practices. In the last five years I’ve begun integrating breathwork meditation, and relational mentoring to this movement practice.I work with therapists, coaches, educators, and professionals—women who've done inner work but struggle to integrate it into their daily lives. Women who are building meaningful careers while managing motherhood, partnership, and their own continued growth.

How I Arrived at This Work

My path to this work has been anything but linear.

I came to it first through necessity. At 28, a car accident left me with a traumatic head injury that changed everything. Before the accident, I was deeply connected to my body, mind and spirit through dance, somatic practices and intellectual pursuits After, I spent years feeling like I wasn't the same person—navigating deep physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual healing.

That journey brought me to Pilates, to understanding trauma not from textbooks but from the inside. It taught me what my clients now need: that healing isn't just about understanding what happened—it's about sensing what your body needs and feels and the connection between your thoughts, emotions and your body sensations.

For many years, I helped clients primarily through physical practice—Pilates, movement, helping people feel more embodied. I was good at it. Clients stayed with me for years. But I kept noticing patterns: women who didn’t understood their stress, their boundaries, their needs—and couldn't seem to prioritize themselves. Who kept pushing through instead of listening to their bodies

.

Then in 2014, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Facing mortality clarified everything. I realized that the physical practice alone—while valuable—wasn't addressing what was underneath. The chronic stress. The inability to prioritize oneself. The disconnect between inner knowing and outer living. The patterns that, left unaddressed, can literally make us sick.

I stopped "putting out fires" each session and started following a thread through the work—addressing root causes, not just symptoms. I began incorporating breathwork meditation, essential oils to work with the limbic system, nervous system regulation practices, and deeper relational mentoring.

That's when everything shifted. Not just for me, but for my clients.

Outcome:

You move from:

  • Understanding to embodying

  • Overwhelm to spaciousness

  • Controlling to trusting

  • Productive-but-not-present to genuinely engaged

  • Performing to being authentic

  • Doing it alone to having sustained support

You finally live what you know.

7 months after finishing chemotherapy, just finished a yoga teacher training, my hair growing out.

What Makes My Perspective Different

I bring a unique combination of scientific foundation and embodied wisdom:

  • Pre-medicine degree: I understand physiology, neuroscience, how the body actually works

  • 25+ years of somatic practice: Pilates, yoga, dance, breathwork—I've been deeply in my body since I was young

  • Lived experience of trauma and healing: I've walked through the fire myself—head injury, breast cancer, rebuilding from the ground up

  • Trauma-informed training: I've studied with trauma specialists and understand how the body holds what the mind can't process

But more than credentials, what sets my approach apart is this: I'm completely comfortable with not understanding everything intellectually. I know that science isn't the end-all-be-all. The body holds wisdom the mind can't always access. Working somatically, energetically, allows unconscious material to move and integrate in ways that talking never could.

I balance masculine structure with feminine flow. Evidence-based practices with intuitive attunement. Science with soma.

And perhaps most importantly: this work is deeply relational. It's not a cookie-cutter program or a distant practitioner-client dynamic. I see you on all levels—what you're saying, what your body is communicating, what your nervous system is holding, the patterns you can't see yourself. Clients describe it as a "sacred space" where they feel "very seen."

That relational safety is what allows the deep work to happen

Experience & Credibility

25+ years working with women navigating stress, transition, trauma, chronic illness, and the journey from disconnection to embodied presence.

Very high client retention rate: Many clients work with me for years, not months. This tells me I'm doing something right—creating sustained transformation, not quick fixes.

Clients consistently report:

  • Feeling "very seen" on all levels

  • Having a "sacred space" to come to

  • Receiving something "very specific to them"—not cookie-cutter

  • Finally bridging the gap between knowing and doing

  • Building resilience, safety within themselves, and deeper connection to their own value

Educational Foundation:

  • Pre-medicine degree (University background in biological sciences)

  • Comprehensive Pilates certification (25+ years of practice and teaching)

  • Pilates based rehabilitation training

  • Pilates Educator for Teacher Training, Ellie Herman, Balanced Body

  • Yoga certification

  • Breathwork meditation certification

  • Decades of somatic movement training (dance, trauma-informed practices)

  • Study with trauma specialists and nervous system experts

Client Profile: I work primarily with:

  • Therapists, coaches, and helping professionals building their own practices

  • Corporate professionals in leadership roles navigating transitions

  • Mothers balancing demanding careers with family life

  • Women ages 35-65 who've done significant inner work and are ready to integrate it

What Clients Say:

"I have a very keen awareness to be able to see them on a whole level." — This is what clients experience: being witnessed not just physically, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

"I don't know how you do what you're doing—I feel so supported by you even though you're going through all this." — Said by multiple clients during my cancer journey, showing that authenticity and vulnerability create deeper holding.

I don't believe you're broken. I believe you're ready for integration.

Most of the women I work with have spent years—sometimes decades—in therapy, reading, learning, understanding themselves. They're not lacking insight. They're lacking embodiment.

My approach is rooted in these principles:

Start with yourself. All transformation begins internally. Before better relationships, aligned careers, or balanced lives—you must connect to your deepest, truest self. This is the foundation everything else builds on.

Integration over compartmentalization. Therapy on Tuesday. Pilates on Friday. Spiritual practice when you remember. These approaches have value, but when they stay siloed, they don't integrate into how you actually live. True healing addresses all dimensions together—physical, emotional, mental, spiritual.

Integration over compartmentalization. Freedom isn't about external circumstances—it's an internal state that comes from being grounded in yourself and living authentically. When you're grounded and authentic, you can take inspired action rather than obligation-driven doing.

Safety creates transformation. Relational safety allows you to do the deep work. When you feel seen, held, and genuinely safe—you can access what's underneath and transform. This is why my work is deeply relational, not transactional.

Root causes, not symptom management. I'm not here to help you manage stress better. I'm here to help you understand why you're stressed in the first place—and address those underlying patterns. Real change is sustainable because it addresses what's underneath.

From understanding to embodiment. Intellectual understanding isn't enough. The body holds what the mind can't access. Working somatically—through breath, movement, nervous system practices—allows unconscious material to move and integrate in ways talking never could.

Don't wait for crisis. You shouldn't have to get diagnosed with a chronic illness to finally prioritize yourself. Prevention through self-connection matters. Your body is speaking to you now—through overwhelm, exhaustion, disconnection. Listen before it has to get louder.

What I Prioritize

  • Whole-person integration: Physical + emotional + mental + spiritual (never just one dimension)

  • Nervous system regulation: Building capacity to be present, not just managing symptoms

  • Personal boundaries and energy protection: Creating resilience from the inside out

  • Relational safety: You feeling genuinely seen and held throughout the journey

  • Organic, resonant pacing: Work flows naturally, attuned to where you are—never forced or formulaic

  • Long-term sustainability: Not episodic fire-fighting but a thread moving through the work

What I Intentionally Avoid

  • Quick fixes and surface-level solutions: If you're looking for a 6-week program that "fixes" you, this isn't it

  • Cookie-cutter approaches: You're not everyone. You get work specific to you.

  • Hype or pressure tactics: This work requires readiness. I won't convince you—I'll meet you where you are.

  • More information without integration: You don't need another book to read or framework to understand. You need to embody what you already know.

  • Compartmentalized approaches: We don't work on "just" your body or "just" your stress. We work with all of you.

My Decision-Making Framework

Everything I do must feel organic and resonant. I don't follow trends—I follow the "red thread" of what feels right through my own healing journey and what serves my clients' deepest transformation.

I balance masculine structure (consistency, boundaries, clear agreements) with feminine flow (attunement, intuition, organic pacing). Both matter.

I trust the body's wisdom while respecting scientific understanding. I'm comfortable holding both—and comfortable with not having all the answers intellectually. Sometimes the body knows before the mind does.

And perhaps most importantly: I bring genuine presence and attunement. This work is relational. I'm not performing expertise from a distance—I'm here with you.

How We Work Together

Step 1: Discovery Call — Clarity Without Pressure

We start with a conversation. Where are you right now? What's not working? What have you already tried? What are you ready for?

This isn't a sales call. It's a genuine exploration of whether this work is right for you at this time. You'll leave with clarity and insight regardless of whether we work together.

Step 2: Embodiment-Focused Mentorship — Integration, Not Information

If we're aligned, you'll begin personalized work that integrates:

  • Pilates-based movement that grounds you in your body and builds nervous system awareness

  • Breathwork meditation that releases limiting beliefs, regulates your nervous, system building you capacity for more resilience to stress, and allows unconscious material to surface and integrate

  • Essential oils to work with your limbic system beyond the conscious mind

  • Relational mentoring that weaves together your insights, spiritual practice, and daily life into cohesive whole

This isn't a one-size-fits-all program. It's work specific to you—attuned to where you are, what you're ready for, and what wants to emerge.

Step 3: Living the Transformation — From Knowing to Embodying

Over time, the gap closes. You stop just understanding your patterns—you start embodying different responses. You give yourself permission to prioritize what's true for you. You build safety within yourself. You create boundaries that hold. You show up authentically in your relationships and work.

Your inner growth finally shows up in your outer life.

This is sustained support—not episodic. There's a thread moving through the work. We're not putting out fires; we're addressing what's underneath so the transformation lasts.

You finally live what you know.

What Clients Experience

"She Sees What I Can't See"

"What makes Lise different is that she listens at every level. She hears what I'm saying, but she also picks up on what my body is communicating and patterns I can't see myself. It's not cookie-cutter. Every session is specific to what I need that day. I feel very seen. This has become a sacred space for me—where I come to check in with myself, get grounded, and feel restored so I can go back out and do my life."

— Client, Therapist & Mother

"Finally, Someone Who Gets the Whole Picture"

"I've done therapy for years. I've tried so many things. This is the first time I've felt like someone is addressing all of me—not just my thoughts or just my body, but how everything connects. Lise helped me bridge the gap between knowing what I need and actually doing it. That's been the missing piece all along."

✗ You're looking for a quick fix or a 6-week program that "solves" everything

✗ You want someone to tell you exactly what to do without doing your own inner work

✗ You're not open to working through your body—you only want talk-based approaches

✗ You're seeking surface-level stress management techniques, not root cause transformation

✗ You're not ready to prioritize yourself or invest in deeper work

✗ You want a cookie-cutter program where everyone does the same thing

✗ You're looking for someone to fix you (you're not broken—you're ready for integration)

Why This Matters

My capacity is limited. I work deeply and relationally with each client. I want to make sure we're aligned so the work can be as transformational as possible.

If you're reading this and recognizing yourself—if you feel seen in these words—then we should talk.
